Jake evaluates investment opportunities and assesses geopolitical risk for Engine No. 1.
Before joining Engine No. 1, Jake was a senior executive with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)’s Directorate of Operations. Most recently he served as CIA’s Chief of Operations for Africa, where he was responsible for U.S. intelligence operations and personnel across the African continent. Previously, Jake was a three-time CIA Chief of Station, including assignments in southern and eastern Africa, held senior counterterrorism positions, and served additional tours in South Asia and Latin America. Prior to CIA, he was an Analyst with Advanced Technology Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Boston and Palo Alto.
Jake received a BA in Government/International Relations, cum laude, from Georgetown University, and received an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
